Terms & Conditions
These are the terms that apply when you buy a cake topper from HeheCorner. We have tried to write them in plain English, because a page nobody can read protects nobody. If anything here is unclear, email support@hehecorner.com and we will explain it.
Last updated:
1. Who you are buying from
HeheCorner is the trading name of HeheCorner, a business established in Spain, tax number (NIF/CIF) available on request from support@hehecorner.com, registered address Spain β full postal address on request from support@hehecorner.com. We design and 3D-print personalised cake toppers and sell them at hehecorner.com.
We are a two-person studio. There is no telephone line. Email is how we work: support@hehecorner.com. We normally reply within 24 hours, Monday to Friday.
When you place an order on this website, your contract is with HeheCorner and with nobody else.
2. Who these terms apply to
These terms apply to consumers β people buying for themselves rather than for a business. We assume you are a consumer unless you tell us otherwise at the time of ordering.
Nothing in these terms takes away rights the law gives you and does not allow us to remove. If you are in the UK, that includes your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013. If you are in the EU, it includes the equivalent rights under Directives 2011/83/EU and (EU) 2019/771, as applied by the law of the country you live in.
By placing an order you confirm you are at least 18 years old, or that an adult is placing the order for you.
3. What we sell, and how the photographs work
We sell 3D-printed cake toppers made from PLA, a rigid plant-based plastic. Most designs are roughly 15 cm (about 6 inches) wide; the exact dimensions of each design are given on its product page.
Most designs are offered in ten filament colours, four of which are rainbow blends that shift colour as the print rises. Some designs are made in a single finish. The colours available for a particular design are listed on its product page.
Most designs include a moulded socket that holds a standard upright cake-fountain firework, commonly sold as an "ice fountain". The firework stands in the socket on its own base β it is never spiked or pushed into the cake. The firework is not included in the price, we do not sell fireworks, and none is supplied with your order.
Photographs and renders are there to show you the design. Because each topper is printed and finished by hand, colours, surface texture and layer lines vary slightly between items, and screens show colour differently. Small variations of that kind are normal and are not a fault.
4. How an order is made
Putting something in your basket is not an order. Placing an order is an offer to buy from us.
- You choose a design, a colour and, where the design allows it, the personalisation text.
- You add it to your basket. The basket page lets you change quantities, remove an item or go back to the product to change your choices.
- You go to checkout and enter your delivery address and your payment details.
- Before you pay, the checkout shows you a review step: the items, the colour, your personalisation text exactly as it will be printed, the delivery address, the delivery method, any tax and the total. You can go back from that screen and change any of it.
- You press the button that places the order. That is the point at which you are committed and the payment is taken.
- We send you an order confirmation email. That email confirms we have received your order β it does not yet form a contract.
- The contract between us is formed when we send you the dispatch confirmation email or, for personalised items, when we confirm that we have accepted your order β whichever happens first.
For personalised items, note that the right of withdrawal does not apply at all, from the moment the order is placed. Section 14 explains this in full, and it is worth reading before you order.
If we cannot accept your order β for example because a design has been withdrawn, because the personalisation text breaks the rules in section 8, or because there is an obvious pricing error β we will email you and refund you in full. Nothing more will be owed by either of us.
5. Correcting mistakes, contract language and your record of the order
The technical steps needed to conclude the contract are the ones set out in section 4: choose, add to basket, go to checkout, enter your details, review, pay. Nothing is charged until you press the button that places the order.
You can identify and correct input errors at every stage before you submit the order. The basket page can be edited β quantities changed, items removed, choices revisited. The checkout review step shows everything back to you and each part of it can be edited from that screen. Most importantly, your personalisation text is displayed back to you exactly as it will be printed, before payment. Please read it there, character by character: it is the last point at which a typo can be caught by anyone other than us, and we print exactly what you type.
We do not store the text of the contract in a form that you can come back and retrieve from us later. What we do send you is a full order confirmation email containing all of the details β the items, the colour, the personalisation text, the prices, any tax, the delivery charge, the delivery address and the order number. Please keep that email. It is your copy of what was agreed, and it is the document to quote back at us if anything is ever in dispute.
The contract can be concluded in English, Spanish, German or French. These terms are published in all four languages, you may order in any of them, and you are welcome to write to us in any of them.
6. Prices, currency and tax
All prices are shown in euros (EUR), for every destination, including the United Kingdom. Our toppers currently range from β¬17.95 to β¬27.95.
Your card is charged in euros. If your bank account is in another currency, your bank converts the amount at its own rate and may add a conversion fee. That fee is between you and your bank; we never see it.
Any sales tax that applies is calculated at checkout on the basis of your delivery address, and both the tax and the delivery charge are shown to you in full before you pay. The price, the tax and the delivery charge shown at checkout are what we charge you.
There is one thing we do not control, and we would rather say it than hide it: for consignments to the United Kingdom worth more than Β£135, the carrier may collect import VAT and customs duty when it delivers, and may add a handling fee of its own. Those charges are set by HMRC and the carrier, not by us. Section 11 explains exactly when this applies.
Prices can change, but a change never affects an order you have already placed and paid for.
If a price is obviously wrong β a mis-typed figure that no reasonable person would take as our real price β we may cancel the order and refund you rather than supply at that price.
7. Payment
You can pay by card, Apple Pay or Google Pay. Payments are processed by SumUp, a licensed payment provider, on their own systems.
We never see or store your full card number. We receive confirmation that a payment succeeded, and a reference such as the card type and last digits, so that we can match a payment to an order and process refunds.
Payment is taken when you place the order. That is normal for made-to-order goods: we start buying filament and machine time for your specific item straight away.
If a payment is declined or reversed, we may pause or cancel the order and will tell you by email.
8. Personalisation β please read this twice
Where a design offers personalisation, we print exactly what you type. Exactly. We copy your text letter for letter, including capitals, accents, spacing and punctuation.
We do not correct spelling. We have no way of knowing whether "Sammii" is a typo or the whole point, so we never guess. Please check the personalisation box carefully before you pay, and check it again on the review screen at checkout, where we show it back to you β a topper printed with the spelling you gave us is not faulty, and cannot be returned for that reason.
Very long text may have to be printed smaller so that it fits the design. If we think your text will not work well, we will email you before printing.
We will refuse to print text that is hateful, harassing or threatening, that targets a real person who has not consented, or that reproduces a brand name, logo or character we do not have the right to use. Cheeky and sweary birthday wording is fine β that is a good part of our catalogue β but the categories above are not.
If we refuse your text, we will email you and offer either a change of wording or a full refund. You are responsible for making sure the text you send us is yours to use.
9. Made to order: production and dispatch
Nothing we sell is held in stock. Every topper is printed after you order it.
We dispatch within 1 to 3 working days of your order being confirmed. Working days are Monday to Friday, excluding public holidays in Spain.
Dispatch time is separate from delivery time. Add the delivery estimate for your country in section 10 to work out when the parcel should arrive.
Dispatch and delivery estimates are given in good faith, and are estimates rather than guarantees of a specific arrival date. If you need a topper for a fixed date, order early and tell us the date β we would rather warn you than disappoint you.
If something goes wrong in production and we are going to be late, we will email you as soon as we know, and you may cancel for a full refund if the delay makes the topper useless to you.
10. Delivery, risk and ownership
We ship from Spain with tracked services. We currently deliver to Spain, the rest of the European Union and the United Kingdom. Current options and prices:
- Spain β β¬3.95, 2β4 working days after dispatch
- European Union β β¬6.95, 3β6 working days after dispatch
- United Kingdom β β¬8.95, 4β7 working days after dispatch
- Express β available at checkout at a higher rate, shown before you pay
- Free delivery on any order of β¬35 or more (calculated on the value of the items), to all of the above
You are responsible for giving us a complete and correct delivery address. If a parcel is returned to us because the address was wrong or nobody collected it, we will re-send it once you have paid the delivery charge again.
Risk in the goods β responsibility for loss or damage β passes to you when the parcel is delivered to you or to someone you have named to receive it. If a carrier you personally arranged collects the goods, risk passes on collection. Ownership passes when we have received payment in full.
If a parcel does not arrive, tell us. There is no deadline for telling us and nothing you can forfeit by being slow, although the sooner we know the sooner we can act. We deal with the carrier; you do not have to.
11. UK orders: import VAT and duty
UK orders are shipped from Spain. We would rather tell you the truth than promise "no extra charges".
Under the current UK low-value-consignment rules, UK VAT is collected at checkout on consignments valued up to Β£135. For those orders there is nothing further to pay when the parcel arrives.
If the consignment is worth more than Β£135, UK VAT is not collected at checkout. Import VAT, and possibly customs duty, becomes payable when the parcel arrives in the UK, and the carrier may add its own handling fee. Those charges are set by HMRC and the carrier, not by us, they are outside our control, and they are yours to pay.
If you refuse to pay import charges and the parcel is returned or destroyed, we can only refund what we actually get back.
12. Your right to cancel (right of withdrawal)
If you are a consumer in the UK or the EU, you generally have 14 days to change your mind about an online purchase, for any reason, without giving one. This is the right of withdrawal under the UK Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 and, in the EU, under Directive 2011/83/EU as implemented where you live.
The 14 days run from the day you, or someone you name, physically receive the goods. If an order arrives in several parcels, the 14 days run from the last one.
To cancel, just tell us clearly before the 14 days are up. Email support@hehecorner.com with your order number and say that you are cancelling. You can copy the model withdrawal form in section 13 into that email if you prefer, but a plain email is enough. We will confirm receipt by email.
After telling us, send the goods back within 14 days. Please send them unused, and in the original packaging if you still have it β but the packaging is not a condition of your refund, and missing or damaged packaging is never a reason for us to refuse one. If an item comes back without its packaging, or having been handled more than was necessary to check it in the way you would in a shop, we may make a proportionate deduction from the refund to reflect the loss in value. That is a deduction, never a refusal.
You pay the return postage, and we are telling you that here, in advance, because the law requires us to. We recommend a tracked service, because until the parcel reaches us it is your risk.
We refund within 14 days of getting the goods back (or of you proving you sent them, if that is sooner), to the same payment method you used. We refund everything you paid us, including the standard outbound delivery charge. There are only two things we may keep back: the extra cost of a delivery upgrade above our cheapest standard option β so if you chose express, we refund the standard rate and not the express supplement β and the return postage, which is yours. We never deduct our own carriage costs, and we never claw back free delivery because a partial return has taken the order below β¬35.
13. Model withdrawal form
You do not have to use this form. A plain email saying that you are cancelling is enough. But the law requires us to give you the model form rather than merely mention it, so here it is, in text you can copy straight into an email.
Copy everything between the lines below into an email to support@hehecorner.com, complete the bracketed parts, and send it.
To HeheCorner, Spain β full postal address on request from support@hehecorner.com, email support@hehecorner.com:
I/We (*) hereby give notice that I/We (*) withdraw from my/our (*) contract of sale of the following goods (*):
β Ordered on (*) / received on (*):
β Name of consumer(s):
β Address of consumer(s):
β Signature of consumer(s) (only if this form is notified on paper):
β Date:
(*) Delete as appropriate.
Please add your order number if you have it to hand β it makes everything faster, although it is not a condition of a valid cancellation.
One thing to keep in mind: this form cannot be used for personalised items, which are exempt from the right of withdrawal. Section 14 explains why.
14. When the right to cancel does not apply: personalised goods
This is the most important paragraph on the page, so we will be blunt.
Personalised cake toppers cannot be returned simply because you changed your mind. Anything printed with a name, an age, a date or any other text you supplied is made to your specification. Both UK law (regulation 28(1)(b) of the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013) and EU law (Article 16(c) of Directive 2011/83/EU) exempt goods made to a consumer's specification, or clearly personalised, from the right of withdrawal.
In practical terms: once we have printed a topper that says "Marcus is 7", it exists only for you and we cannot sell it to anybody else. That is why the exception exists.
The exception applies from the moment you place the order, not from the moment a printer starts. There is no cancellation window before production begins β the law removes the right of withdrawal for personalised goods from the outset, and we would be misleading you if we implied otherwise.
There are two things this exception never covers. It does not cover items that arrive faulty or damaged, and it does not cover items that are not what you ordered β including anything we have spelled wrong ourselves. Those are always put right, as set out in section 15.
Separately, and purely as a goodwill gesture rather than a legal right: if we have not started making your topper yet and you email quickly, we will change the wording, the colour or the address, or cancel and refund the order. Send us your order number as fast as you can, with "Change to order" in the subject line, and we will tell you honestly whether the machine has started. We say yes far more often than not β but please treat it as a favour we can usually do, not as something you are entitled to.
15. Faulty, damaged or wrong items, and the legal guarantee
Goods we supply must match their description, be of satisfactory quality and be fit for purpose. That is your legal right, and personalisation does not weaken it.
If your topper arrives broken, faulty, or different from what you ordered, email support@hehecorner.com with your order number and photographs of the item and its packaging. Please tell us as soon as you reasonably can β it is easier to sort out while the parcel and its packaging are still to hand β but there is no deadline for reporting a fault to us, and there is nothing you can lose by taking a while to notice.
We will repair, replace or refund β including the delivery you paid β and we will not ask you to post a broken topper back at your own cost.
Your statutory guarantee sits behind all of this and is not affected by anything in these terms. In Spain, the legal conformity guarantee runs for three years from delivery, and Spanish law sets no deadline for notifying us. In the UK, the Consumer Rights Act 2015 gives you a short-term right to reject within 30 days and further remedies after that, and latent defects may generally be pursued for up to six years in England, Wales and Northern Ireland (five years from discovery in Scotland). Those periods run far longer than any timescale we suggest above, and nothing we say here shortens them.
One fair caveat: faint layer lines and small colour variation between batches are characteristics of hand-finished 3D printing, not defects. Damage caused by dropping the topper, washing it in a dishwasher, exposing it to heat, or using it in a way section 16 warns against, is not a manufacturing fault.
16. Safety β the firework, the cake and the small print that matters
Please read this before you use a topper. It is short and all of it matters.
- The firework is not included. We do not sell, supply or resell fireworks of any kind. You buy the ice fountain separately from a retailer of your choice.
- Only a standard upright cake-fountain firework β an "ice fountain" that stands on its own base β is suitable for the moulded socket. It sits in the socket; it is never spiked or pushed into the cake. The socket is never for thin handheld sparklers. They are the wrong shape, they sit loose, and they are not made for cakes.
- Always follow the instructions printed on the firework's packaging. Those instructions come from its manufacturer and they override anything on our website.
- An adult must light and supervise the firework at all times. Never leave it burning unattended and never let a child light or hold it.
- Keep the lit fountain clear of hair, clothing, decorations, balloons, curtains and smoke alarms, and leave clear space above the cake. Do not lean over it.
- Keep the topper away from open flame generally. The only heat it is designed to be near is a cake fountain standing in the moulded socket and used as intended.
- The topper is not edible. It is solid plastic β not icing, wafer or fondant. It must be removed from the cake before the cake is served, and everyone cutting or serving must know it is there.
- Keep toppers away from young children when they are not on the cake. They are decorations, not toys, and they are not designed as children's products.
- Wipe clean with a damp cloth only. Not dishwasher safe, not microwave safe, and never used to store food.
We cannot be responsible for injury or damage caused by fireworks we did not sell, by fireworks of the wrong type being forced into the socket, or by the safety instructions above being ignored.
17. Product safety: who makes these products
Regulation (EU) 2023/988 on general product safety requires us to tell you who stands behind the product itself, and not only who sold it to you.
HeheCorner β HeheCorner, Spain β full postal address on request from support@hehecorner.com, email support@hehecorner.com β designs and manufactures these cake toppers and is the responsible economic operator in the European Union for them. There is no separate importer, distributor or authorised representative in the chain: we are the manufacturer and we are the seller, and the same address and inbox handle both roles.
The safety warnings that go with the product, gathered in one place:
- This is not a toy. It is a decoration, it is not designed or tested as a children's product, and it should be kept away from young children when it is not on the cake.
- It is not edible. It is solid plastic, not icing, wafer or fondant.
- Keep it away from open flame, with one exception: a standard upright cake-fountain firework standing in the moulded socket and used exactly as intended.
- An adult must supervise from the moment a firework is lit until it has burned out.
- Remove the topper from the cake before the cake is served, and tell whoever is cutting the cake that it is there.
If you ever have a safety concern about one of our products, email support@hehecorner.com and tell us. We would want to know immediately, and we would rather hear about it from you than from anyone else.
18. Intellectual property
The designs, 3D models, photographs, product descriptions and text on this website belong to us or are used with permission. You may not copy, scan, reverse-engineer, 3D-scan, reproduce or resell our designs, or use our images for your own listings.
Buying a topper gives you the topper. It does not give you a licence to reproduce the design, commercially or otherwise.
"HeheCorner" and our logo are our marks. Any other brand names mentioned anywhere on the site belong to their owners and are used only descriptively.
If you send us artwork, a photograph or text to be printed, you confirm you have the right to use it and you give us permission to use it for the purpose of making your order. You remain responsible for it.
19. Our responsibility to you
If we fail to meet these terms, we are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breaking the contract or of our failing to use reasonable care and skill. Loss or damage is foreseeable if it is obvious that it will happen, or if we both knew it might happen when the contract was made.
We do not exclude or limit our liability in any way where it would be unlawful to do so. That includes liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, for defective products under product liability law, and for breach of your statutory rights as a consumer.
We do not cap what we owe you at the value of your order, and there is no clause anywhere in these terms that tries to.
We are not responsible for losses caused by fireworks we did not supply, or by the use of a topper in a way section 16 tells you not to.
20. Things outside our control
We are not responsible for delays or failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control β strikes, carrier failures, extreme weather, power or internet failure, or government action.
If such an event happens, we will contact you as soon as we can, and the delivery estimate is extended by the length of the disruption.
If a delay caused by such an event is substantial, you may cancel the order and we will refund you in full for anything not yet delivered.
21. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms β for example, if the law changes or our delivery options change.
The terms that apply to your order are the ones published on the site at the moment you place it. We do not apply changes retrospectively.
The date of the most recent update is shown at the top of this page.
22. Governing law, complaints and disputes
These terms are governed by Spanish law. If you live in another country in the EU or in the UK, you keep the protection of any mandatory consumer law of the country you live in, and you may bring proceedings there.
Please complain to us first: email support@hehecorner.com with your order number and what went wrong. We will always try to sort a problem out by email before it becomes anything more formal, and almost everything is fixable that way. We will answer.
If we cannot sort it out between us, the out-of-court route here is the Spanish consumer arbitration system, the Sistema Arbitral de Consumo. You can start it through the Junta Arbitral de Consumo of your region, or through the national Junta Arbitral de Consumo, and the usual way in is your local consumer office (OMIC) or your regional consumer authority. Consumer arbitration is free for the consumer.
If you live in another EU country, or in Norway or Iceland, the European Consumer Centre network (ECC-Net) has a centre in your own country whose job is to help consumers with cross-border purchases inside Europe, free of charge. Search for "European Consumer Centre" together with the name of your country. If you are in the United Kingdom, the UK European Consumer Centre does the same for purchases made from EU traders.
You may also complain to the consumer authority where you live. None of these routes costs you your right to go to court.
23. How to contact us
Email: support@hehecorner.com. This is the fastest way to reach us and it gives both of us a written record.
We reply within 24 hours in most cases, Monday to Friday. We do not operate a telephone line.
Formal notices should be sent to HeheCorner, Spain β full postal address on request from support@hehecorner.com, and copied by email so that we see them quickly.
