Two crossed golf clubs, a big dimpled golf ball with a small crown on top, and his name cut clean through a bar across the middle. This is the grown-up version of our golf topper: it carries the milestone number as well as the name, which is exactly what a 40th, 50th, 60th or 70th cake needs. Set it on a drip cake and it looks like a trophy rather than a party decoration, which tends to go down well with men who claim they do not want a fuss.
A socket is moulded into the base behind the golf ball. It takes a standard upright cake fountain, the cone or cylinder sold in the UK as an ice fountain, and holds it steady so the sparks climb straight up behind the crown. The fountain is not included, and we do not sell fireworks. Use the upright cake-fountain type only, never a thin handheld sparkler. An adult should light it, follow the instructions on the firework's packaging, and stay beside it until it has burnt out.
It is 3D printed to order in PLA, a rigid plant-based plastic, in our studio in Spain. Unlike our plain golf topper, this one arrives in a single fixed two-tone finish, exactly as photographed, with the ball and the club heads picked out against the darker body. It is about 15 cm (6 in) wide on a wide, flat base, and the height moves a little with the length of the name. It is not edible; lift it off before the cake is cut.

Questions about this topper
Do you send an ice fountain with it?
No. The topper has the holder built in, but the firework is yours to buy. Look for a standard upright cake fountain, sold in the UK as an ice fountain, in party shops and supermarkets. It sits in the socket behind the ball. Thin handheld sparklers are not suitable.
Can I leave the age off and have just his name?
You can. Enter only the name in the personalisation box and that is what gets printed. If you want a plain name topper with a choice of colour as well, our other golf topper is designed for that and costs less. This one is built around the number, so it looks best with it.
Is there a choice of colour on this design?
No. It arrives in the single two-tone finish you see in the photos, because the pale ball and club heads against the darker body are what make it read from across the room. If a choice matters more than the milestone number, our name-only golf topper comes in ten colours.
What safety rules apply to a cake fountain at an indoor 50th?
Stand the cake clear of curtains, balloons and low ceilings, keep children back, light it with a long lighter and follow the instructions on the fountain's own packaging. Never leave it burning unattended, and give it time to cool before anyone handles the topper.
Why pay more than the price of a card topper?
A card or acrylic topper does the job for one evening. This is a 3D printed piece with real depth, a built-in fountain holder and a base that will not sag on buttercream, and it still looks like something the next morning. It is bought as a keepsake.
