The age as one big flowing script number, with the name written straight across the middle of it in a contrasting hand. No bottle, no clubs, no motif of any kind: just the number and who it belongs to, on a slim base bar. It is the design we point people to when the brief says elegant — an 18th, a 30th, a 40th, a 50th, a 60th, or a wedding anniversary with the years as the number.
Of our name-and-age toppers this is the understated one, and it works as well on a man's cake as on a woman's. It comes in fourteen colours — black, grey, white, blue, pink, purple, yellow, green, orange, red and four rainbow blends; the photos show the blue version with the name picked out in white, the contrast that keeps the name readable from the far end of the table.
Behind the script, a socket is moulded into the base. It takes a standard upright cake fountain, the cone or cylinder sold in the UK as an ice fountain, or a slim tall candle, and holds it straight while it burns. The fountain is not included and we do not sell fireworks. Use the upright type only, never a thin handheld sparkler, and have an adult light it, follow the instructions on its packaging and stay with it until it is out.

Each topper is 3D printed to order in PLA, a rigid plant-based plastic, in our studio in Spain. It is not edible, so it lifts off before the first slice, and afterwards it keeps as a small memento of the year. The tail of the script number runs on underneath the name, which is the detail people notice when the cake comes out.
Questions about this topper
Is an ice fountain included?
No. The holder is built into the base, but the firework is not supplied and we do not sell it. Buy a standard upright cake fountain, sold in UK shops as an ice fountain, and slot it into the socket behind the script. Thin handheld sparklers do not belong in it. An adult lights it, follows the instructions on its packaging and stays with it until it is out.
How do I enter the name and the age?
Put both in the personalisation box, for example Laura 50 — on this design the number and the name are the whole picture, so both are needed. We print your exact spelling and capitalisation without correcting anything, and personalisation is free, so read it back once before checkout.
How is this different from your other name and age topper?
That one carries a bottle and two glasses as its motif and leans towards a woman's birthday. This is the plain elegant version: the big script number with the name across it and nothing else, which is why it sits as comfortably on a man's 50th as on a woman's 30th.
Does it work for an anniversary?
Yes, and it is ordered for exactly that: the years married as the number, with the surname or the couple's names written across it. We print whatever you put in the box, so you decide how to compose it.
