A champagne bottle tipped mid-pour on one side, two flutes clinking on the other, and her name written between them in a flowing script that runs the whole width of the base. Add the age and you have the cake topper for a 30th, a 40th, a 50th, or any birthday where the cake is more prosecco than party bags. It is the plainest brief we get asked for, name and age, done properly rather than laser-cut out of 3 mm acrylic.
The socket is moulded into the base, tucked behind the script so you barely notice it until it is doing its job. It takes a standard upright cake fountain, the cone or cylinder sold in the UK as an ice fountain, and holds it straight so the sparks rise between the bottle and the glasses. The fountain is not included and we do not sell fireworks. Use the upright type only, never a thin handheld sparkler, and make sure an adult lights it, follows the instructions on its packaging and stays with it until it is out.
Each topper is 3D printed to order in PLA, a rigid plant-based plastic, in our studio in Spain. It arrives in one fixed finish, exactly as photographed, which is deliberate: the script is fine, and this is the filament that holds a thin stroke without it going soft. It is about 15 cm (6 in) wide, with the height moving slightly depending on how long the name is. Not edible, so it comes off before the first slice.

The script is a joined hand rather than a block font, and the tail of the final letter runs underneath the number. On a plain buttercream cake it is the only thing in the photograph.
Questions about this topper
Is an ice fountain supplied with the topper?
No. The holder is built into the topper, but the firework is not supplied and we do not sell it. Buy a standard upright cake fountain, labelled ice fountain in UK shops, and slot it into the socket in the base. Thin handheld sparklers do not fit and are not safe here.
How do I enter a name and an age together?
Put both in the personalisation box exactly as you want them to appear, for example Laura 40. We print what you type, capitals and spacing included, at no extra cost. Longer names print slightly smaller, since the topper stays about 15 cm (6 in) wide.
Is 15 cm right for an 8 in cake?
Yes. At about 15 cm (6 in) wide it spans roughly three-quarters of the top of an 8 in round and leaves a clear margin at the edge. On a 6 in cake it runs almost the full width, which looks bold rather than wrong. On a 10 in or tiered cake it sits neatly in the centre.
Is any of it edible?
No. It is a decorative keepsake printed in PLA, a rigid plant-based plastic, and nothing about it should be eaten. It rests on the icing on its flat base, like a candle holder, and is lifted off before the cake is cut. Wash it afterwards and it keeps its finish for years.
Can I ask for a different finish?
Not on this design. It arrives exactly as photographed, because the fine script holds its shape best in that filament and photographs well against white and gold icing. If you want a choice, several of our other name toppers come in ten colours, four of them rainbow blends.
How much notice do you need before a 40th?
Two weeks is comfortable for the UK. We print after you order, taking 1-3 working days, then tracked delivery is 4-7 working days to the UK at EUR 8.95, 3-6 across the EU at EUR 6.95 and 2-4 in Spain at EUR 3.95, free on orders of EUR 35 or more.
